Where the research fits
Two randomized human studies. Two important signals.
A randomized crossover study of a four-probiotic mixture containing species represented in the Resetly formula reported lower blood acetaldehyde in participants with the ALDH2*2/*1 genotype. The study did not report marked improvement in overall hangover scores.
A separate randomized, double-blind crossover trial involving a studied strain of Leuconostoc mesenteroides reported lower blood acetaldehyde at one hour, increased ALDH activity, and improvement in selected hangover-related symptoms, particularly thirst.

In a randomized, double-blind crossover trial of 28 healthy adults, a studied strain of Leuconostoc mesenteroides was associated with lower blood acetaldehyde at one hour, a 42.15% increase in ALDH activity at 30 minutes, and improvement in selected hangover-related symptoms, particularly thirst.
Four researched probiotic species
A randomized, double-blind crossover study evaluated a four-probiotic mixture containing Lactobacillus gasseri, Lacticaseibacillus casei, Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, and Bifidobacterium breve. It reported lower blood acetaldehyde in ALDH2*2/*1 participants, but no marked improvement in hangover scores versus placebo.
